I watched the annual ride on Old Kingsbury, which is closed to the public. This route opened 5 weeks after the Pony Express Started. It is a challenging section, basically straight up from Carson Valley to the top of Kingsbury. This route is only used every other year on the ride when they go westbound.

The rider made a short stop and even handed off a package to a girl, what an experience for her! Right across from the stop is a historical monument likely placed in the 1940s.

Thank you, John and neighbors, for inviting me! They had an entire Pony Express watch party with amazing BBQ ribs and beans, and an impromptu whiskey tasting courtesy of John.
