In 1866 prospectors T.W. McNutt, H.W. Bunyard and Thomas Israel discovered silver ore deposits at the south end of the Silver Peak Range, east of the Sylvania Mountains. Pony Express Rides Again

Pony Express re-ride. It was fun to watch the Pony Express riders and a mailbag handoff at Woodfords, CA. I took photos a few places along the route but had to leave before they reached Genoa. It has been strange transitioning from a week of ghost towning to routine life. After eight days of seeing only a handful of people, I came home to heavy traffic, busy stores, several parties and my son's graduation.
