Travel Update: Full Post to Follow
Friday’s drive was favorite part of the weekend. I still visited ghost towns, but my friend Dwayne and I decided to chase fall colors. The best color we found was right below Munckton, so of course I had to go visit the mill site. We also visited Chemung where the colors were changing, but not the one stand of trees I have been waiting for. I’ll be working on those photos next.
I tried for Dogtown, but would have had a water crossing. “It didn’t seem that deep” sounded like famous last words so we skipped that stop. Dwayne got drone photos for me and I’ll go back with Muck Boots to hike over to the town site.
Sunday friends and I tried for several mines in the Pine Nut Range. We knew it was a risk with the roads and recent fires. Four attempts to get around the road damage failed. It was a strange experience, like driving on the moon in black and white. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
