I think my family drew sticks to see who would accompany me each day on my explorations. My son won, or was it lost, the day I went to Leeds.
Silver Reef is a great ghost town off I15. They have a nice museum in a Wells Fargo building along with multiple other structures. In 1866 a Nevada prospector discovered silver, the only location in the US where silver was found in sandstone.

I would have explored more but despite feeding my son eggs, sausage, pancakes and fresh fruit an hour before we left, he was convinced I was starving him to death.
We made a quick stop in Leeds at a CCC Camp and an even quicker stop in Harrisburg before headed back to St. George to fill the kid up on yummy Mexican food.
The jail was moved multiple times and returned to Silver Reef in 2017
I will be writing a post on Silver Reef and hope to revisit and spend more time.
