This weekend, Sutro and I hosted a tour to spread the word Sutro is open for tours. We had a variety of ghost towners: authors, websites, media, Facebook, and Instagram accounts.

When Chris Pattison, the director of Friends of Sutro Tunnel, told me he wanted to spread the word about tours, one of my first thoughts was a tour for well-known ghost towners. Ghost Town Influencers, if you will, except Bob from Forgotten Nevada, who made me promise not to call him an influencer😆

This group is my dream team, the rock stars of Nevada ghost towns. I follow their sites and travels. When I research, this is where I start. It was fun to spend a day talking with people I have followed online for years. The knowledge and experience of this group are amazing. One notable missing person was Stan Paher, who was working selling ghost town books.

The docents gave a wonderfully informative tour packed with information about the tunnel and town.

Larry's Coffee Dayton nevada

I had time to kill before picking up coffee at my new favorite shop in Dayton, Larry’s Gourmet Coffee House. Make sure to get a biscotti with your coffee!

Old Town Dayton

I took photographs in Dayton and stopped by one of Nevada’s oldest continually maintained cemeteries. I’m not sure what it says about me, I found this sign hilarious.

After the tour, I headed to Virginia City with Nevada Expeditions and Great Basin Exploring. We had a great celebratory lunch at the Cider Factory then made a few stops in VC.
