While Fish Lake Valley is known for ranching, in the past the valley had a variety of mining activities. The Dunnigans, an innovative and dedicated couple, worked the Red Rock mercury mine. I am sticking close to the ranch this weekend. Fire crews have done an amazing job and gained 29% containment of the Caldor Fire but our area is still under evacuation watch. Mt. Patterson
I had a fun trip up Mt. Patterson via Desert Creek. It was a smoky start but we found clear, cool air. It was a great group of people, several I met in Pershing County last weekend.
