Mini Ghost Town Trip

March 2, 2022 2 Comments

Travel update: Full articles to follow I had a few free hours Friday, so I headed out with Great Basin Exploring and Nevada Expeditions. We had a mini ghost town mini trip around Dayton: Eldorado Canyon kilns, Rock Point mill, Daney Mine and Mill, Rock Point Mill, and Summit Station. We also saw Sutro from a distance. March 1, 2022 8 Comments

Ghost Towning In October 2020, four brave friends decided to accompany me on a three-hour tour. The Professor, Ginger, Marian, and Gilligan. Sorry, wrong show. I spent the morning checking my winch and recovery gear, air down kit, and CO2 tank. I haven't been out in Honey Bader in over a month, so I am excited to take her out to play and get dirty. The last time I was out was when I got stuck in Virginia ... VIEW POST

Dream Team

This weekend, Sutro and I hosted a tour to spread the word Sutro is open for tours. We had a variety of ghost towners: authors, websites, media, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. When Chris Pattison, the director of Friends of Sutro Tunnel, told me he wanted to spread the word about tours, one of my first thoughts was a tour for well-known ghost towners. Ghost Town Influencers, if you will, ... VIEW POST
