I had a great time at Candy Dance. I met many followers and new readers and talked about ghost towns for two days. Alan is an avid follower and was unable to attend. Honey Badger got a new sister!

So, I did a thing this weekend. We weren't planning on trading out my daily driver until next year. We talked about trading the Enclave for an SUV that handled easier off-road trips and didn't get beat up on the ranch. Also, something I can explore in without getting 12 mpg. Johntown: Nevada’s First Ghost Town

On the way home from a Labor Day trip up Jumbo Grade, I decided to look for the ghost town of Johntown. I learned that the obscure town was Nevada's first mining camp which also became Nevada's first ghost town. Even though nothing remains, Johntown was once home to the movers and shakers of the Comstock. While the town is forgotten by many, it played a vital role in the Comstock Lode. Gold ... VIEW POST

On Sunday, I attended the September 11th Ride to Remember Convoy hosted by Nevada Jeep Club. The organizers did a fantastic job organizing day-long events to honor those who lost their lives.
