Travel Update: Full Post to Follow
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a fun day exploring ghost towns and mines outside of Nixon: Nightengale, Alpine and M.G.L. The roads were challenging for me: steep, rocky, tight, and sandy with big drop offs. I was the only female and new off road driver. I learned a ton following great drivers and took Honey Badger places I never thought a vehicle would go!

How do I find out about metal detecting in and around old ghost towns and mines in Nevada?

Check land management agencies for their regulations, like BLM.
I believe metal detecting is only allowed in certain areas like parking lots. Removing any items from a historical site is illegal but under federal and state law.
SHIPPO could be a good state resource.
