I hope everyone has a fun Halloween weekend. There are so many haunted places to visit in Northern Nevada and Eastern California.

Maybe you will run into “The Famous Washoe Seeress” at Bower’s Mansion. Or spirits of the 11 miners entombed in the Yellow Jacket Mine. If you visit the Dake house, don’t ask if the rose painting is for sale, the spirits won’t take kindly to your interest.

Please let me know if you run into any spirits at Mormon Station, the thought of a ghost rooster sends chills down my spine.

This year is special. Halloween falls on a Saturday, the only day of the week Chemung is haunted. The owner fell, maybe with just a little help, to his death in a mine shaft on a Saturday night.

You can enjoy a Bloody Mary alongside guests of the past and present at any number of haunted bars: Nevada’s Oldest Thirst Parlor, Gold Hill Saloon, The Silver Queen and the ever popular Bucket of Blood.

My plan is to visit The Hanging Tree and Genoa Jail. I want to see if I can summon Adam Uber, still restless 123 years after his lynching, using the Uber App.
