Bodie’s little-known history.
Ranchers around Mono Lake provided Bodie and Aurora with meat, produce and dairy. One ranch used this hollowed-out tufa as cold storage for eggs, butter and milk.
Yes, I drove all the way down from Bridgeport to photograph this piece of history. 
. It was a little hike but a beautiful day.
