Fingers crossed for good weather; I will be doing a trial run for the Trails West conference trips next month.

I am starting my day taking the alternate tour: Fort Churchill, Buckland’s Station, and Stockton Well. The 1865 Stockton Station was a trading post on the crossroads of five emigrant trails. The property is private and fenced, but we get special access. Unfortunately, we don’t have much time, but I hope to get some drone footage of the wagon ruts.

Next, we take the trip I will be co-leading. We will have stops at Snowshoe Thompsons Cave, and Carson River Route including emigrant markings and graves. The plan is to end at Odd Fellows Rocks and Devil’s Ladder. I don’t know if we will have time for Tragedy Springs and Maiden’s graves.

The weather looks iffy Saturday, so I’m not sure if I will get out. I have a special treat on Easter morning; I hope the family likes it.
