Nevada Magazine featured me as one of three Instagrammers to follow!
Thank you, Nevada Magazine, for highlighting my IG account for the second time this year. I love that people are interested in Nevada history. I like the contrast of my ore bin against the beautiful desert flowers and Vegas cityscape. The fall issue is the final one before format changes. I’m anxious to see what the new publication brings, hopefully, more articles from me at some point.
I don’t have an article in the fall issue, but it has excellent articles on Pyramid Lake and Nevada Caves. Plus the Great Nevada Picture Hunt, which features several of my friends; Congratulations to all! It should still be available for purchase on newsstands.
Thank you, @great_basin_exploring, for pointing the photo out to me. I read it then put it on my bookshelf; it’s the one publication I keep. I even ordered a book from the pages; I have no idea how I missed my photo.
I have been working on my “Top Ten Ghost Towns” project, focusing on northern Nevada. I called in the “Big Guns” for research, Stan Paher and Shawn Hall. They are the rock stars of Nevada ghost towns. I’m like a groupie and it delights me to have them on the proverbial speed dial. I can honestly say I have expended every resource available in my research of Mountain View.
I don’t know if I will get out much. This weekend sounds like the end of the world, listing to local weather forecasters. However, we have to run into Reno for supplies, so I hope to make a few stops along the way.
Have a warm and safe weekend!
