Travel Update: Full Post to Follow

Candelaria and the site of Metallic City was our final stop last Friday. It was getting late and the sun was setting but we had a good time photographing the ghost town. Unfortunately, an earthquake a few years ago significantly damaged the remaining structures.

I love these gorgeous metal doors

It was crazy hot that day, the Jeep topped out at 98 degrees. Even in the shade, my poor lunch of a cheese stick had no chance. I’m almost ended up with blisters on my tooshie from my black leather seats I had stupidly parked in the full sun. Sunday it was snowing, that’s Nevada for you.

I missed the 98 reading, poor cheese stick

We headed to the Mizpah where I upgraded my room to a “Romance Package” because, why not. Red Lady wine is named after the Mizpah’s resident ghost who was murdered in the room my friends stayed in. I eat healthy 90% of time time, OK maybe 80%, but I was starving after barely eating all day. The Mizpah has the best chicken fried steak! And biscuits and gravy 🤫

Tomorrow is the Pine Grove cleanup day, everyone is welcome. 10-2 at Pine Grove Hotel. A group meeting in Yerington at Maverik if you would like to join them, I will already be at Pine Grove. If time allows, we might head to Rockland after the cleanup. I am putting the final touches on two posts, Nivloc and Alkali Springs and will share next week.
