A Fork in the Road

A fork in the road

Travel Update: Full Post to Follow

Sometimes days don’t turn out as planned but the fun is in the journey. I took friends to visit Thompson with a plan of finding an abandoned cabin. We must have taken a wrong turn at the fork in the road. I swear we took every road in the area, consulted the guide book, several atlases, GPS and the almighty iPhone. Hubby called the area the “spaghetti bowl” for all the crossing roads.

Sonora Trail

We ended up following part of the Sonora Trail and found a Trails Wester marker in the middle of nowhere. I need to purchase more trail guides so I can follow and document the route.

My new CO2 system

I am now a pro airing up and down. I can deflate tires in a minute each by removing the valve stem. We also calibrated the tire deflators so I can see which I prefer. I was a little hesitant to work with CO2 but after seeing how quickly my friend aired up I was a convert. I was a little nervous disconnecting the tubing, it reminds me of opening a roll or crescent rolls and waiting for the pop (seriously, the pop terrifies me!). I didn’t time myself, but I can be aired back up in short order.

Driving the tank didn’t work out so we went shooting. I’m working on regaining my grip strength after hand surgery. It wasn’t my best, but I didn’t do to bad.

I hate opening up those crescent roll and the rest of those things. I make my husband do it. Good shot, girl!!

Thanks, and I am trying to get over my fear of opening canned rolls 😉
