Sylvania was one of the first ghost towns I visited in Nevada. It was a great place to start my Nevada travels; multiple buildings remain, making it a fun place to explore. Over the Hill
I had to make a trip "over the hill" as we say in Northern Nevada. I can't imagine what emigrants would think of crossing the Sierras, a medical appointment, lunch of Vietnamese food, picking up take out for dinner and making it home in 7 hours.
