Inyo County & Ants in my Pants

September 23, 2024 12 Comments

I'm back from my last big trip of the year (unless something else comes up, which is always seems to do). Friday, I started in Mammoth, hitting some spots on my wish list and waiting for Nevada Expeditions to get off work and catch up. Late in the day, I headed to Inyo County for two days of exploration. Carson Valley Photo Club Trip

September 15, 2024 Leave a Comment

Robin has been brave and on several trips, including a multi-day girl trip. After a brief history lesson, everyone explored and photographed the ghost towns. I look forward to seeing their pics. Hastings never traveled his cutoff, which added miles to the trip, ... VIEW POST

Busy weekend

The headstone was cut from the boulder that ended Bill's life in 1896. You can read about Zirnville & the Deadly Headstone if you missed the story. Camping gear is scorpion-free, cleaned and stored till next season. My next trip is to Inyo County, ... VIEW POST

September 3, 2024 Leave a Comment

Nevada's history is most often explored in the isolated desert. Lunch is often a snack tray or MRE on Honey Badger's hood. When I'm fortunate, it is a burger at Middlegate or Mina Burger. Don't get me wrong, I love both of those. Sometimes, exploring is a very different experience. This week, my history group, Neversweats, met at the beautiful Thunderbird Lodge at Lake Tahoe. Kim Harris, ... VIEW POST
