Mono Mill Fire Threat

The Mono Mill is under threat due to lightening caused fire. This includes the beautifully preserved 10 stamp mill, bunk house and unique double ore bin. Most ore bins are set side by side while these face each other. The entire area has been evacuated. I’m so glad we had to opportunity to visit twice this year. ... VIEW POST

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It's still crazy smoky in Northern Nevada. It's makes for blah photos so I scouted yesterday and today. I found the schoolhouse I have been looking for in Washoe Valley. Plus the historic Twaddle -Pedroli Ranch. I think I will wait until fall for when the aspen leaves change. I hope everyone had a great weekend. What did you do? It was crazy smoky in Northern Nevada so I didn't get out like usual. I did go out early Sunday with my friend and awesome wildlife photographer, Dwayne Hicks. He is the summoner of eagles and and had one waiting for us. In 1850, young Rachel traveled with her family to the promised land of California. They took the Carson River Route of the Emigrant Trail which crossed the Sierra Nevada Mountains, connecting Carson Valley and Woodfords on the east to Placerville on the west.
