Thursday was a pretty day for a drive around Carson Valley and Hope Valley. Fall colors in the eastern Sierras are on display. Good thing I went when I did, a storm blew in and all the leaves are probably in Yerington.
After losing fellow soldiers at Tragedy Springs, a Mormon battalion arrived in 1848 and named the valley “Hope Valley as we began to have hope”.
The hi-light of my weekend is winch and hi-lift jack training. Seriously, I have been looking forward to it for a month. If time and weather permits I have plans to visit a few ghost towns to visit while I’m in the area.
You can learn more about Hope Valley and activities including enjoying the fall colors in the Eastern Sierras at Alpine County Chamber of Commerce.
Have a wonderful fall weekend!
