Stewart Indian School. The school was open from 1890 to 1980 and attended by Washoe, Paiute and Shoshone tribal children. Indian schools in the US have a mixed history, but I feel it is important to remember both the good and the bad. You can learn more at the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum.

The state is working on opening a museum and cultural center on the grounds. I have wanted to explore the grounds and finally took the time! Thank you Tara for joining me! Some of the grounds are now the Nevada Police Officer training facility.
