Travel Update: Full Post to Follow
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was busy but lots of fun. Hiking in Desolation Wilderness. No bear sightings, but I explored a Gold Rush era resort, amazing scenery and beautiful waterfalls. Fall in the Sierras is all about contrast. Super cold mornings and warm days. I started the day in a down vest, gloves and wished I had brought a hat. By lunch I was sitting in the sun in a tee shirt at one of my favorite cafes. Thanks Dwayne for a great day!
I made a quick trip to play tour guide at Jordan then a stop at Monoville. I didn’t get to explore much as it was late in the day, but the area is beautiful at sunset. I look forward to spending more time in the area. FYI: The Uber App didn’t help with summoning Adam Uber. Or an Uber Driver. Or even Uber Eats. Darn it, delivery would have been nice on Halloween.
I visited Golden Gate Mill for the first time since the fire. The devastation is heartbreaking. The mill itself is a pile of twisted metal. The boarding house is nothing but a metal roof. I hiked to the location of the double ore bin, nothing remained but I found the mine entrance. When I got home hours later Hubby said I smelled like a campfire.
