Jeeping and friends are the best therapy.
Shakedown
After six months in the shop waiting for a new engine, Honey Badger was ready to play! Thank you, Denise, for organizing an amazing afternoon and putting us through the paces. She kept it small and everyone with winches, just in case there was an issue.
We started the day airing down. I love my Christmas present, an Indeflate. It aired down and up four tires simultaneously. I had all the tires aired down in less time than it took me to break the plastic zip ties.
Denise took us through the paces, dirt, hills, ruts and even a few mud and water crossings. Honey Badger did amazing! She got to show her flex on one set of steep ruts.
Lost opportunities
In the last few months, I have had something big in the works; an opportunity of a lifetime. I was expecting to announce it soon. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out.
I received the call with my ladies while in the Pine Nut Mountains. While it wasn’t the news I wanted, I couldn’t imagine a better place to receive the news.
You never know where life will lead you and what new opportunities might arise. I will keep doing what I love, exploring, documenting and protecting Nevada’s history.
A little libation therapy
After six hours on the trail, we were covered in dust and mud and starving. Aside from Jeeping and friends, what is the best therapy? Margaritas, of course!
We took turns going to the bathroom to wash our hands; after ordering drinks, of course! The looks we got were picture worthy. I had on black pants, which showed every bit of dust.
Beach Therapy
Next week I am on a much needed vacation. I am spending a week with my mom and sister in Hawaii. We are staying a the same resort as our last trip to the Big Island. I love the Nevada desert, but need some beach therapy.
Ahoah!
