I was fortunate to attend the Great Western Steam Up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City before it opened to the public.
V&T #1, “Lyon”
Southern Pacific #18
Carson Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company. “Glenbrook”
V&T #11, “Reno”
The Virginia & Truckee #11 locomotive, the Reno, is famous. The 1872 engine recently returned home after a long acting career.
Bluestone
I am not necessarily a train person, my interest is in the station stops. However, the Bluestone was the one train I wanted to see. I might have to make a trip to see it at Root of Motor Power, in Willits, California.
Thank you Nevada State Railroad Museum and the Great Western Steam Up for this amazing opportunity!
