Super fun day! Grimes Point Petroglyphs, Sand Springs Pony Express Station, Salt Wells, Fairview, Summit King Mine and my favorite, “Nowhere Nevada”!

Sand Station was so difficult to photograph! It’s the first time I wish I had a drone or was 20 feet tall! We beat the wind storm in the morning, but hit it coming back.

The Petroglyphs is one of the oldest known Petroglyph sites in Nevada and is estimated to be 8000 years old!

We got as close as you can to Fairview. The town is now part of Fallon Naval Air Station and access is blocked. I did find a fun piece of Art Abandonment.

I just wanted to add, if you want to explore a bit more, look up on eBay, or an old used book store for a great book called “Ghost Towns of the West” a Sunset Book by Lane Magazine and Book Company Menlo, Cal written by William Carter. It is a pictorial guide to towns and mining camps that opend the West. I believe you will enjoy the pictures and all the readings

I’m sorry for the delay, I was on vacation.
I thought I had that book, but I’m not seeing it on my shelves. I will look for it online, thank you for the recommendation.
