Travel Update: Full Post to Follow
Weather was on my side and and we got out Sunday. What was going to be a short trip turned into a long day. It’s a common Nevada phenomenon, the next interesting place is only a few more miles. Before you know it, you covered half the state.
Our destination was Nine Mile House, an 1860s stage stop on the Carson to Aurora road. Fletcher stage stop was so close we went a little farther. Then the lime kiln was only a few more miles, then the Aurora Cemetery, then Aurora itself. It’s difficult to believe 10,000 people once called this isolated valley home.
As a bonus, we found a herd of Bighorn sheep at Elbow.
It was Miss Edel’s first full day out. We must have tired her out because she didn’t make it to her bed and crashed in the cat bed.
Tired puppy!
