I spent the weekend trying to organize photos. I need a better system, and a better computer before I use mine for target practice. It’s fun going back through the trip and seeing all the amazing places I visited. This was one of my favorite days, it didn’t hurt that I spent it with Stan Paher and he chauffeured me around for a while.
Palmetto was founded 1866. Through three declines and two revivals, the town was mostly tents. Two stone buildings and the foundations of a mill remain.
My photos of the Pony Express ride were a hit on a explorer group I’m in, a ton of likes and shares. This was great as I connected with the two female riders and was able to offer to give them the photos. I am spending the week researching the more obscure locations I visited, so far the lack of information has been frustrating.
