Genoa, Nevada’s oldest settlement in 1851, had the strangest rainbow today. It started in the field and arched over the Sierras. (Cell phone pic, it was gone too quickly to grab the camera from the Jeep)

The eagle and owl tour was rescheduled for this weekend. I will be helping Senator Settelmeyer at his ranch in the morning for the eagle tour. I am hosting two groups for the owl prowl and ranch tour, of course they will get a history lesson. It has been fun going through old ranch records. The original deed was by the US in 1864 to “Dacotah or Sioux Half Breed”.

It’s been a windy chilly day, you can see who rules the roost. You can see in the background a few pieces of ranch history. The prize piece is a set of Woolies, similar to chaps. They are made from cow hide for warmth and going through sage brush.

Sunday is projected to be sunny. If weather cooperates I want to retrace my route last weekend to get better photos.
